John Heaton School (JHS) was opened on 12 October 2026 in Chimanimani, eastern Zimbabwe.

Stage 1 is a kindergarten (early childhood development), with Stage 2 (primary and secondary education) to be offered from 2028.

Our qualified educators facilitate Bible Studies as well as the nation's mainstream curriculum.

Families of children attending JHS on low income can pay the equivalent value of the school fees via labour or contributions of chicken, fruit, vegetables and other produce. The labour assists us further develop the school property, and the produce is used to provide all students with a free morning tea and lunch each day. To ensure no child misses school, scholarships are awarded to children without caregivers and with no means to pay the fees or contribute the equivalent value in labour or produce.

JHS allows hundreds of children and youth living nearby to not need to cross dangerous rivers while walking 20+ kilometres to and from the next closest school every day.

Please contact us to identify how you can contribute to the costs associated with us developing and operating JHS and getting the best outcomes for our students.
