A 500 KM WALK IN 5 WEEKS TO HELP CHILDREN IN NEED
Adam and Tamai Heaton are building a Christian school (kindergarten to college) in remote Zimbabwe.
John Heaton Christian Academy, named after Adam’s late father who was a Christian and educator, is located in Chimanimani, remote Eastern Zimbabwe.
The 100’s of children and youth who live close by currently walk over 20km to and from the next closest school, with many not able to attend when unable to pay fees.
Not only will John Heaton Christian Academy provide accessible, quality Christian education, but reduce or waive fees so all can attend.
Throughout 2026, Tamai has been in Chimanimani to project manage the build while Adam has worked in Australia to fund its progress. They now need your help to complete the build and open the kindergarten. .
To raise the required funds, Adam is walking 500 kilometres in 5 weeks, from 15 August, prior to him and Tamai opening the kindergarten in late September.
Funds raised will also assist purchase the required furniture and educational materials.
Whether it be through a prayer or a donation of $10, $100, or more, thank you for your contribution to building God’s kingdom and extending a hand to those in need.
Main costs (but 1 person can contribute to 1 of these - not necessarily pay the entire amount):
1. Educational material (books, stationery, posters etc): $1000
2. Wages (builders, educators etc.): $500-$100 per month
3. Furniture items (tables, chairs, shelves etc): $2000
4. Cement (floors, plastering, paths): $3000
5. Roofing materials: $5000
